17th Washington Men's Mid-Amateur being held at Salish Cliffs Golf Club

Shelton, Wash. – The 17th Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship is being held July 21-23 at Salish Cliffs Golf Club in Shelton, Wash. The 54-hole stroke-play championship is conducted by Washington Golf (WA Golf).

The first tee time for the opening round on Tuesday, July 21 is 7:00 a.m. All groups will start on the first tee. After 36 holes, there will be a cut to the low 60 players and ties.

Players to watch for in the strong championship field include:

• Jacob Rohde (Everett) – 2024 Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Champion at Desert Canyon Golf Resort.
• Jon McCaslin (Olympia) - 2025 Champion of Champions winner, won that same tournament in 2018.
• Reid Hatley (Hayden Lake, Idaho) – Two-time winner of this championship (2016, 2018). Hatley has two other WA Golf titles (2019 Men’s Am, 2023 Men’s Four Ball) and has been named the WA Golf Men’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year six times.
• Erik Hanson (Kirkland) – Won this title in 2019, and twice finished in second place (2010, 2015). Earlier this year was inducted into Pacific Northwest Golf Hall of Fame.
• Jermaine Kearse (Tacoma) – Former Seattle Seahawk wide receiver, board member of Washington Golf Foundation.

Last year’s champion, Jonny Larson of Bellingham, is not in the field this year.

To be eligible for the Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, contestants must be 25 years of age or older by July 21, 2026. Competitors must have an active GHIN number and USGA Handicap Index issued by a WA Golf member club not exceeding 9.9 at the time of entry.

The Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur is one of 14 championships held annually by WA Golf.
