Mild mannered, soft spoken and dedicated are very good descriptions of Dave. He has been a valued member of the WSGA Course Rating Committee for more than six years, and in 2016 he participated in 18 course ratings, traveling all over the state, and made himself available for all 40 course ratings performed by the WSGA. He has been a member of the Riverbend Men’s Club since 2010.

Dave grew up in the Tacoma and Lakewood area and graduated from Curtis High School in 1970. He attended Evergreen State College, earning a degree in Psychology and Business, after which he took a permanent job with the state of Washington as a probation counselor for juvenile group homes. He then worked for over 20 years as an adult probation officer for the Department of Corrections, retiring in 2004.

Since his retirement he has found more time for golf, and has worked as a marshal at Riverbend GC and as a volunteer with the Seattle Golf Show. He is thorough, trustworthy and a valued volunteer, and is the epitome of the George Holland Volunteer of the Year.
