TEAMS FROM TPC AT SNOQUALMIE RIDGE WIN BOTH MEN’S AND WOMEN’S  MEMBER CLUB TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

Roslyn, Wash. (Thursday, June 2, 2011) – Men’s and Women’s teams from TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge made a clean sweep at the 6th Annual Washington State Men’s and Women’s Member Club Team Championships held at the Prospector Course at Suncadia Resorts in Roslyn, Wash.

In the Men’s Championship, the winning team was made up of Chris Bae of Issaquah, Vince Calouri of North Bend, and Charles Schmidt of Snoqualmie. This was the team’s second win at the Member Club Team but first with new teammate, Fred Johnson, also from Snoqualmie. The team shot a two-day total score of 409 led by Bae’s individual low gross score of 148. This was Bae’s third consecutive Men’s low gross honor as he paced the squad to the victory.

In second place, with a two-day team score of 417 was the team from Twin Rivers Golf Club made up of Mike Marthaller of Sammamish, Mike Rutledge of Fall City, Steve Stough of Carnation, and Bill Bennett of Woodinville. Taking home the Men’s individual low net honors in the field was Rick Van Haelst of Sammamish, with a two-day net total of 137.

In the Women’s Championship the two-time defending champions from TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge—Molly Grossi of Sammamish, Diana Chow of Redmond, Kim Ponti and Roberta Smith, both of Issaquah—won their third consecutive championship on the first hole of a sudden death playoff against Riverbend Golf Complex. Team members from Riverbend included – Laura Risher from Issaquah, Mary Ryan from Renton, and Kathy Landino and Shari Boggs both from Kent. They’re team made a five shot come back in the final round to tie TPC with a two-day total team score of 443.

Ann Swanson of Redmond won the Women’s individual low gross competition with a score of 165, while Rose Simmons of Renton won the Women’s individual low net competition with a score of 141.

The Washington State Member Club Team Championship format calls for each four-person team to be from the same WSGA member club and consist of either all men or women. This is a 36-hole stroke play competition, with each team counting one gross score and two net scores per hole for the team total each day.
