Titus and Gardner successfully defend title at Washington Women’s Four-Ball
Seattle, Wash. – The team of Kim Titus of Fox Island and Kelly Gardner of Gig Harbor shot rounds of 71-78 to win the 21st Washington Women’s Four-Ball Championship, held this week at Rainier Golf and Country Club in Seattle, Wash. The championship was conducted by Washington Golf (WA Golf).

Titus and Gardner successfully defended their title, having won this championship in 2019. The championship was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the fourth title in this championship for the duo, having also won it in 2014, 2017, 2019 and now 2021.
Titus and Gardner had begun today’s second round one shot back of first-round leaders Emersyn Walker of Lakewood and Kailey Bass of Gig Harbor. Walker and Bass finished two shots back of Titus and Gardner.
“It was a tough day today, but we kind of hung in there together,” said Titus. “I had a few lucky breaks, I flew one in for eagle from about 80 yards out, and today I had another chip-in.”
“It was just a joy to be out here again,” said Gardner. “It’s nice to be out and playing again in a full field.”

Taking home the Net title in the Women’s Four-Ball are Tammy Curtis of Edmonds and Susan Pruitt of Seattle.
The format for the Women’s Four-Ball was 36-hole stroke play (gross and net). The field was divided into flights based on team handicap.
The Washington Women’s Four-Ball is one of 14 championships conducted annually by WA Golf.
