By the Numbers – The 2025 WA Golf Championship Season

Another WA Golf Championship season has been put to bed. Another season of laughs, memories, hot dogs, Gatorade and exceptional golf is now to be reflected on, and not just through what’s on your camera roll.   Indeed, unique seasons produce fascinating statistics as by-products. In the case of WA Golf, that of 2025 was no different. Across the Evergreen State alone, here are just a few numerical examples of another seasonal grind that went finely like gourmet coffee beans:   3,046 – Miles traveled by the WA Golf truck and trailer to the WA Golf championship sites and USGA Qualifiers.   84 – Eagles made.   1 – Score on the third playoff hole, when Paul Hogben walked off the Washington Senior Men’s Amateur with his first ever hole-in-one (and first title).    304 – Number of days volunteers gave to help run WA Golf Championships and USGA Qualifiers.   63 – Low round in a WA Golf Championship or USGA Qualifier was carded by Sean Walsh in the U.S. Open Local Qualifying at Palouse Ridge.    216 – Three-day total of even par the Women’s Amateur Champion, Grace Lee, shot on her way to claiming the state championship.   13 – Number of new champions crowned.   3 – Number of victories Taya Battistella and Dane Renkert have had playing the Washington Mixed Chapman in the last four years.   62 – Final round score by Washington Men’s Four-Ball champions Reid Hatley and Nate Plaster, winning by a two-stroke margin.    4 – Number of years in a row where Kim Titus finished in the top five at the Washington Senior Women’s Amateur before claiming the title this year for the first time. The 2026 season may not be fully set, but as long as golf clubs across the state are a’swingin’, more of Northwestern firepower will continue to be reflected on paper at the very least.
