Ladies Links League holds season finale at The Home Course

Season Finale at The Home Course

The top 32 teams on the season long points list and four randomly selected teams will be invited to play at The Home Course for the season finale. Includes round of golf with a cart, prizes for top finishers, a raffle, lunch and lots of fun.

To be eligible your team must have played in at least 3 monthly challenges.

Playing Formats

In a Scramble, each team member hits a tee shot on each hole. The team then decides which of the two balls is in the best position to play the next shot from. Once the team decides which ball is best, they then mark the position of the ball, either with a coin, tee, etc. Each player then retrieves their ball and plays a shot from the new designated spot. This is then repeated for each shot until a ball is holed.

A Best-Ball (or Four-Ball) is very similar to a usual round of golf. Each team member plays their own ball from on each hole. At the end of each hole, the lowest score posted by either teammate is recorded as the team’s score for that hole.

In Chapman stroke play, two players play as partners with each playing from the teeing ground and each player playing her partner’s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, including par three holes, partners select the ball with which they wish to score and then play that ball alternately to complete the hole. The player who did not hit the approach shot that the team selected will then hit the third shot. Then players alternate hitting the shots until the ball is holed.

A Shamble is similar to a Scramble but there are a few key differences between the two formats. A Shamble starts off similar to a Scramble where both players will play from the teeing ground. Then they select the best drive of the team. Each player will then put a ball into play within a club length of that spot and complete play of the hole with her own ball. The lower score will count as the team score for the hole.
