Moses Lake, Wash. – Sandra Turbide of Maple Ridge, B.C. shot rounds of 80-73 to win the 23rd Washington Senior Women’s Amateur, while Sunny Sue Kim of Bellevue, Wash. shot rounds of 79-80 to win the 9th Super Senior Women’s Amateur.
In other play, Angela Zhang of Bellevue, Wash. leads the 29th Washington Women’s Amateur after two rounds, and Jacqueline Bendrick of Mercer Island, Wash. leads in the 13th Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur.

Turbide entered the day two-shots back of Kim Titus of Fox Island, Wash. and fired the low round of the championship, a one-over par 73, to climb to the top of the leaderboard. Titus finished in second place, four shots back.
“I’m very happy about my round today,” said Turbide, “I pulled it off and I’m proud of it.”
“I was able to stick to my game plan and hit my targets, and I putted well” she said when asked what went well over the two rounds.
This is the second title in the Senior Women’s Amateur title for Turbide, who also won in 2019.

Maria Agnew of Malaga, Wash. captured the Senior Women’s Amateur Net title with scores of 75-70.
In the Super Senior, Sunny Sue Kim entered the day one-shot back of Marcy Holt of Spokane, Wash., and fired the low round of the day, an eight-over par 80 to vault up to the top of the leaderboard.
Kim finished three shots ahead of second place finisher Marcy Holt, and six shots ahead of defending champion Karen Madison of Spokane Valley, Wash. Kim, Holt and Madison were all paired together during today’s final round.
This is the first WA Golf title for Kim who has been playing in WA Golf championships for the past five years.

Kris Adams of Bonney Lake, Wash. won the the Super Senior Women’s Amateur Net title with scores of 76-74.
In the Women’s Amateur 13-year-old Angela Zhang fired a one-under par 71 to take the lead heading into tomorrow’s final round. Her round of 71 was the only under par round of the day.
Overnight leader Anastacia Johnson of Tacoma, Wash. sits in third place, four shots back. Defending champion Kennedy Knox sits T4, eight shots off the pace.
In the Women’s Mid-Amateur, defending champion Jacqueline Bendrick followed up yesterday’s round of 74 with another 74 in today’s second round. She will carry a four-shot lead over Marianne Li of Bellevue, Wash. going into tomorrow’s final round.
The four championships are being held concurrently by Washington Golf (WA Golf) at Moses Lake (Wash.) Golf Club. The Women’s Amateur and Mid-Amateur championships are being contested over 54 holes of stroke play on June 20-22, while the Senior and Super Senior championships consist of 36 holes of stroke play on June 20-21.
The final round of the Women’s Amateur and Mid-Amateur championships will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, June 22. Tee times begin at 7:30am.
The Women’s Amateur, Women’s Mid-Amateur, Senior Women’s Amateur and Super Senior Women’s Amateur are four of 14 championships conducted annually by WA Golf.
