DuPont, Wash. – The Washington Golf (WA Golf) championship season is set to begin this week with the 14th Annual Washington Champion of Champions, starting on Thursday, April 27, at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash.
The championship will feature 157 champions from across WA Golf territory competing in four divisions: Men, Women, Senior Men, and Senior Women, over 36 holes of stroke play on April 27-28. Tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday on the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.

The championship features several past champions in the Men’s division, including Bjorn Bjorke (2009 and 2020), Jon McCaslin (2018), Jacob Koppenberg (2016), and Sean Packer (2012).
In the Women’s division, Kennedy Knox, the 2022 champion, returns to defend her title, while the reigning Washington Women’s Amateur champion and WA Golf Junior Girls’ Player of the Year Angela Zhang is also in the field.
Tom Brandes, the defending champion and six-time winner (2012, 2016-18, 2021-22), headlines the Senior Men’s division. Keith Crimp, a three-time champion (2013, 2014, 2020), is also in the field.
Defending and two-time champion Gretchen Klein (2017, 2022), Karen Johnson (2021), Leslie Folsom (2018, 2020), Karen Madison (2015), and the inaugural winner of the Women’s division, Denise Kieffer (2009), will be among the past champions in the Senior Women’s division.
To be eligible to compete in the Champion of Champions, a player must meet at least one of the following criteria:

- Past Champion of the Men’s Champion of Champions (2018-2022)
- Past Champion of Senior Men’s Champion of Champions (2018-2022)
- Champion of a WA Golf Championship; excluding Parent-Child and Mixed Chapman Championships (2022)
- Champion of any event on the WA Golf Men’s Performance Points List (2022)
- Champion of any event on the WA Golf Senior Men’s Performance Points List (2022)
- Top-10 on the WA Golf Men’s Performance Points List (2022)
- Top-10 on the WA Golf Men’s Mid-Amateur Performance Points List (2022)
- Top-5 on the WA Golf Senior Men’s Performance Points List (2022)
- Top-5 on the WJGA Boys’ Performance Points List (2022)
- WJGA State Junior Boys Champion (2022)
Age: No age requirements for Men’s Championship. Players in the Senior Men’s Championship must have reached their 55th birthday by April 27, 2023.
