Former WSGA Player of the Year Jacobs falls in quarterfinals at U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur

Former Washington State Women’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year Amanda Jacobs of Portland, Ore. was defeated in 19 holes by Marissa Mar of San Francisco, Calif. in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, hosted by Champions Golf Club in Houston, Tex. Mar is the championship’s co-medalist.

This year’s championship marked the fourth U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur that Jacobs has played in (seventh USGA championship overall) and the second consecutive year in which she had advanced to the quarterfinal round.

Jacobs was twice named the WSGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year, in 2014 and 2015, before moving to Oregon. She is a three-time recipient of the PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year award (2015-17).
