Herendeen completes stellar freshman campaign

Max Herendeen of Bellevue, Wash., just finished his freshman season as a member of the University of Illinois men’s golf team, and what a season it was.

Season highlights:

  • Runner-up at the 2023 Sahalee Players Championship
  • Won the 2024 NCAA Stanford Regional
  • T2 Stroke Play finish at the 2024 NCAA Championship
  • Top-20 finishes in 12 of 13 stroke play events
  • Voted Big Ten Freshman of the Year and a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten
  • GCAA PING All-America Second Team
