Longtime WSGA volunteer George Egge passes

George Egge, a longtime volunteer for the WSGA, passed away on January 13 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 88. George, of Lacey, Wash., had been a Club Representative for the WSGA and PNGA since 1992, and was a respected Rules official at many WSGA and PNGA championships, USGA qualifiers and Washington Junior Golf Association tournaments. He was a longtime delegate for the Tacoma Golf Association. In 2004, George received the George Holland Volunteer of the Year Award, which annually recognizes those who have made extraordinary contributions to the Washington State Golf Association and the game of golf throughout WSGA territory.
