Winners crowned at inaugural WA Golf Net Four-Ball Match Play

After more than six-months of competition, the inaugural playing of the WA Golf Net Four-Ball Match Play tournament is officially in the books. The event, which featured a Men’s and Women’s division with four regions of two-person teams competing in a Net Four-Ball match play format, concluded this weekend, October 1-3 at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash.

In the final match of the Women’s division Chris May of Kent and Kathy Hopp of Auburn defeated Cathy Kay of Burien and Karen Johnson of Auburn in 19 holes. May and Hopp were the winners of the North Sound Region, while Cathy Kay and Karen Johnson were the South Sound Region winners.

May and Hopp are both members of the Riverbend Ladies Golf Association and they were facing fellow members of the club in Kay and Johnson in today’s final match.

In the final match of the Men’s division, Kameron Trout of Lake Tapps and Ryan Mitchell Lynnwood defeated Michael Talley of Chelan and John Snyder of East Wenatchee by a score of 5&4. Trout and Mitchell were the winners of the South Sound Region, while Talley and Snyder were the winners of the Central Region.

Trout is a member at Tapp Islands GC and has been playing golf for 12 years. Mitchell is a member at Inglewood GC and has been golfing for 20 years.
