Winners Crowned at Second Annual WA Golf Net Four-Ball Match Play

After more than six-months of competition, the Second Annual WA Golf Net Four-Ball Match Play tournament is officially complete. The event, which featured a Men’s and Women’s field broken up in to four divisions of two-person teams competing in a Net Four-Ball match play format, concluded this weekend, September 30-October 2 at Gamble Sands in Brewster, Wash.

Debra Bryant and Maria Agnew

In the final match of the Women’s field, the team of Debra Bryant (East Wenatchee) and Maria Agnew (Malaga) defeated Laurie Briggs (Kent) and Cheryl Benson (Kent) by a score of 3&2. Agnew and Bryant were finalists from Central/East division of the tournament, while Briggs and Benson advanced to the Final Weekend via wildcard from the West division.

Bryant and Agnew both play out of Three Lakes Golf Club in Malaga, Wash. Bryant has been playing golf for 35+ years, Agnew started playing 13 years ago. Including Pod Play matches, the duo went 9-0 during this year’s tournament.

Ehrin Stumpges and Nick Riebli

In the final match of the Men’s field, the duo of Ehrin Stumpges (Maple Valley) and Nick Riebli (Edmonds) defeated Jeff Foe (DuPont) and Bryan Novak (DuPont) by a score of 1 up. Stumpges and Riebli were finalists from West Region #1, while Foe and Novak advanced from West Region #2.

Stumpges and Riebli are former college roommates and good friends who have been playing together for 20+ years. Stumpges plays out of Druids Glen Golf Course, Riebli is a member at Chambers Bay and The Home Course. Including Pod Play matches, the duo went 10-0 during this year’s tournament.
