Kennewick, Wash. – David and Tommy Vonghalath of Kennewick combined to shoot 7-under par 65 to win the 15th Washington Parent-Child Chapman Championship, held today at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick. This is the first title in the championship for the father-son duo.

The Vonghalaths carded an impressive six birdies, an eagle and just one bogey on their round to give them a two-shot victory over second place finishers Rob and Dylan Murray of Spokane.
Winning the Net Division was the father-son team of Benjamin and Ben Garza of Othello.
The father-son team of Joel and Grason Mitchell of Kennewick won the Flight 1 Gross title. The father-daughter duo of Jim and Ashley Joss of Spokane won the Flight 1 Net title.
The 18-hole championship was played in a Chapman stroke play format, with two players playing as partners, each playing from the teeing ground and each player playing his or her partner’s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, including par-3 holes, partners select the ball with which they wish to score and then played that ball alternately to complete the hole.
The Parent-Child is one of 14 championships conducted annually by Washington Golf (WA Golf).
