Soap Lake, Wash. – Reid Hatley (Hayden Lake, Idaho) and Andrew Von Lossow (Spokane) shot rounds of 65-64-129 to with the 69th Washington Men’s Four-Ball; while Erik Hanson (Kirkland) and Tom Brandes (Bellevue) made a charge on the back nine of today’s final round to win the 32nd Senior Men’s Four-Ball with rounds of 66-66-132 to finish two shots clear of the field. Both championships were held concurrently at Lakeview Golf and Country Club in Soap Lake, Wash.

In the Men’s Four-Ball, Hatley and Von Lossow had started today’s final round tied for the lead with Benjamin Barrett / Teigen Brill (both of Spokane), after shooting 65 in the first round. Although both sides played well in today’s final round, Hatley and Von Lossow had the better front nine, shooting 5-under to Barrett and Brill’s 4-under.

Both Hatley and Von Lossow have been named WA Golf’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year – Hatley a six-time honoree (2015-2020) and Von Lossow a three-time honoree (2022, 2024, 2025).

For Hatley, this is his third title in this championship, with him winning the three titles each time with a different partner – last year with Nate Plaster, and in 2023 with Jacob Koppenberg.

Hanson and Brandes had begun today’s final round of the Senior Men’s Four-Ball one shot behind Mike Swingle (Carnation) and Ted Himka (Bellevue). But Swingle and Himka could not get anything going on the front side, making the turn at even-par for the day, while Hanson and Brandes went 3-under the front side and repeated it with another 3-under on the back side to pull away from the field. Swingle and Himka finished two shots back, tied for second with Neil MacLeod and Steve Wheeler (both of B.C.) and Dana Christianson (Tacoma) and Larry Redfield (Sumner). Christianson and Redfield won the second-place payout via a scorecard playoff.

This is the second title in this championship for Hanson and Brandes, who also teamed to win in 2022. Brandes had earlier won the Men’s Four-Ball twice, in 2006 and 2007, while partnering with Alex Stamey, before moving to the Senior Men’s Four-Ball competition in later years.

Both Hanson and Brandes are members of the PNGA Hall of Fame, with Hanson being inducted last month, and Brandes being inducted in 2015.

The Washington Men’s and Senior Men’s Four-Balls are two of 14 championships conducted annually by WA Golf.
