Heidi Wills steps down from First Tee of Greater Seattle

An open letter from Craig Bruya, FTGS Board Chair

It is with much gratitude and appreciation that we send well wishes to our fearless leader, Heidi Wills, as she completes her time as Executive Director of The First Tee of Greater Seattle. Heidi has served our organization selflessly for the past 12 and a half years and her legacy will be felt for years to come.

Heidi’s enormous vision and tireless advocacy has made it possible for The First Tee to connect more than 1,800 young people to positive coaches and mentors through the game of golf each year. Under her leadership, we have developed one of the largest school-based programs in the country, serving 100,000 kids annually right here in King County. Her “can-do” attitude and endless optimism have set a high bar for excellence. Nationally, our program has consistently achieved ACE status, the highest ranking of performance within The First Tee Network. Locally, we were recognized by Seattle Business Magazine as a top youth development organization in Puget Sound.

Heidi will surely be missed and we are grateful for the strong foundation she leaves for our next leader. We are currently looking for our next visionary to take the reins and are excited for what lies ahead for the organization.

We are currently in the midst of our Executive Director search and hope you will help us in identifying strong candidates by sharing the job posting with your friends and colleagues.

The history of The First Tee is filled with many bright lights and the future is even brighter as we look to the next chapter. Thank you for being a part of The First Tee’s story.

With gratitude,

Craig Bruya
Board Chair, First Tee of Greater Seattle
