Tina Papatolis of Issaquah, Wash. and Carrie Jacobson of Bellevue, Wash. combined for an even-par 71 to grab the first-round lead at the 20th Washington State Women’s Best-Ball Championship hosted by Fairwood Golf & Country club in Renton, Wash.
Under wet weather conditions, Papatolis and Jacobson were the only team in the field to finish at even-par or better, going 1-under on the front nine and 1-over on the back.

The duo enters the final round with a slim one-shot lead over Patty Myers of Olympia Wash. and Karen Madison of Spokane, Wash., who combined for a 1-over 72 in round one.
Three teams, including past champions (2014, 2017) Kim Titus of Fox Island, Wash. and Kelly Gardner Gig Harbor, Wash., enter the final round two shots back.
