PCGA Announces Nate Schroeder as Executive Director

Tacoma, Wash. – The Pacific Coast Golf Association (PCGA) is proud to announce the designation of Nate Schroeder as its next executive director, taking over the position previously held by Troy Andrew. The change – made with approval from the PCGA Executive Committee – comes with immediate effect and Schroeder will preside over the 59th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship, set for July 21-24, 2026, at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, Calif.

Washington Golf (WA Golf) will continue to be the managing association of the PCGA and remain responsible for administration and supportive services.

Andrew has served as executive director of the PCGA for the past 15 years. During his tenure, he played a key role in elevating the Pacific Coast Amateur’s national profile, including helping secure its inclusion in the Elite Amateur Golf Series and implementing format enhancements that expanded the championship field and increased opportunities for top amateur players. Andrew will continue to support the PCGA through WA Golf’s role as managing association but is stepping away from the executive director position to focus on his primary responsibilities as CEO of WA Golf, executive director of the Washington Golf Foundation, executive director of the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA), and oversight of their jointly owned and operated golf course, The Home Course.

Schroeder brings a wealth of championship operations experience to the PCGA. He is the senior director of championships and golf operations for both WA Golf and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA), which collectively conduct 25 regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors and seniors annually throughout the Northwest.

Schroeder began working in golf administration after graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2013 and spending a year as a USGA P.J. Boatwright Intern with the New York State Golf Association. He began his tenure with WA Golf in January 2014 as a manager of rules and competition, ascending to his current directorial position in 2021.

“Nate has been a valuable leader on our WA Golf and PNGA team for more than 12 years and has played a major role in the success of our championship operations,” Andrew says. “He has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, excellent budget management, and the ability to lead teams effectively. He is highly respected, and I am confident he will make the Pacific Coast Golf Association even stronger as executive director.”

Says Schroeder, “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as executive director of the Pacific Coast Golf Association. The PCGA has a proud history of showcasing championship golf at iconic venues, and I look forward to working with our member associations to help build on that tradition in the years ahead.”

Schroeder has also served as a Rules Official in nine USGA championships and at various NCAA golf tournaments. He served as a Pac-12 Conference Championship Rules Committee member from 2016-2024.

The Pacific Coast Amateur is one of seven events that make up the Elite Amateur Golf Series (EAGS), in which players earn World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points and compete for the Elite Amateur Cup. Top finishers earn exemptions into USGA championships, PGA TOUR events, and Korn Ferry Tour events.

About the Pacific Coast Golf Association
The Pacific Coast Amateur Championship is one of the oldest and most prestigious amateur golf championships in North America. The first tournament was held on the links of San Francisco Golf Club at The Presidio in 1901. After being played until 1911, the Pacific Coast Amateur then ceased to exist, only to be reconstituted at Seattle Golf Club in 1967. Today, 16 Pacific Rim golf associations comprise the Pacific Coast Golf Association, including the Montana State Golf Association, which joined in 2025. About the Elite Amateur Golf Series
Launched in 2022 to challenge the best of the best in amateur golf, the Elite Amateur Golf Series brings together the top amateur championships in a collective series of competition, the Elite Amateur Cup. In addition to hosting the best players, Elite Amateur Cup events are contested at the best sites and have the longest history of successful champions. The Elite Amateur Golf Series maintains a proven track record that prepares elite players for the toughest competitive tests, making the championships the majors of amateur golf.
