After besting the field by five strokes at the Sectional Qualifier hosted by his home course, Tacoma Country & Golf Club, Derek Barron of Tacoma, Wash. has made his way to the 2017 U.S. Open Championship at Erin Hills.
The 32-year-old Barron, a former hydraulics worker, will be keeping a daily diary of his time at the U.S. Open.
