Renton, Wash. – The 28th Washington Women’s Amateur, 12th Women’s Mid-Amateur, 22nd Senior Women’s and 8th Super Senior Women’s amateur championships are being held this week at Fairwood Golf and Country Club in Renton, Wash.
The Women’s Amateur and Mid-Amateur championships will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play on June 15-17, while the Senior and Super Senior championships consist of 36 holes of stroke play on June 15-16.

The Washington Women’s Amateur is the state’s premier amateur championship for women, and traditionally draws the region’s best players. Some of the players to watch this year include:
- Lauryn Nguyen of Seattle: 2020 WA Golf Junior Girls’ Player of the Year; medalist at last month’s U.S. Junior Girls’ qualifier; reigning WJGA Girls’ State Champion
- Brittany Kwon of Bremerton: 4-time WIAA 3A Individual State High School champion, 3-time WA Golf Junior Girls’ Player of the Year (2016-18), sophomore on University of Washington women’s golf team
- Winnie Ng of Seattle: member of Malaysia national team; sophomore on University of Washington women’s golf team; has qualified for three LPGA Tour events
- Montgomery Ferreira of Tacoma: 2018 WIAA 4A Individual State High School champion; older sister Jordan won 2014 Washington Women’s Amateur
- Grace Lee of Bellevue: qualified for this year’s U.S. Girls’ Junior

- Victoria Fallgren of Spokane: 3-time champion of the Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur (2017, 2018, 2020), including being defending champion; 3-time WA Golf Women’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year (2017, 2018, 2020), assistant coach for Gonzaga University women’s golf team
- Tina Papatolis of Issaquah: 2019 Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur champion, 2019 WA Golf Women’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year
- Caroline Matelski of DuPont: 1994 Washington Women’s Amateur champion
