Bob Hollister, 67, of Steilacoom, Wash. passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017. He was born on July 31, 1949 in Seattle, and grew up on Browns Point near Tacoma.Bob leaves a 40-year legacy of service as general manager at more than 10 private clubs in the Puget Sound region. He was a true gentleman. He loved playing golf, the Great Northern Railway, and photography. He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and those he mentored.
Bob leaves a 40-year legacy of service as general manager at more than 10 private clubs in the Puget Sound region. He was a true gentleman. He loved playing golf, the Great Northern Railway, and photography. He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and those he mentored.
Bob served on the USGA Regional Affairs Committee from 2004-2016. The mission of this committee is to promote USGA core programs and to serve as a vital link between state and regional golf associations (SRGAs), the golfing public and the USGA. The Committee is the eyes and ears of the USGA as its members are involved with USGA championships, the Rules of Golf, Rules of Amateur Status, the USGA Handicap System, SRGAs and grassroots golf programs.
During this time, Bob also served briefly on the USGA Joe Dey Award Committee, an annual award which recognizes an individual’s meritorious service to the game as a volunteer.
