Union, Wash. – The father-son duo of Todd and Justin Johnson from Renton combined to shoot 5-under par 67 to win the 16th Washington Parent-Child Chapman Championship, held today at Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club. This the first title in the championship for the Johnson’s.

The Johnson’s carded an impressive seven birdies in the round and just one stray double bogey on the challenging par-5 eighth hole to give them a one-shot victory over second place finishers Logan and Matt Medcalf from Lynden and Mount Vernon respectively.
Winning the Net title was the father-son team of Raymond and Calvin Pritchett from Graham who finished with a net score of 11-under. The father-daughter team of Douglas and Erin Pierce from Sedro Wooley finished in second place.
The father-son team of Stuart and Alec Jamieson from Bellingham won the Flight 1 Gross title. Raymond and Calvin Pritchett one the Flight 1 Net title.
The 18-hole championship was played in a Chapman stroke play format, with two players playing as partners, each playing from the teeing ground and each player playing his or her partner’s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, including par-3 holes, partners select the ball with which they wish to score and then played that ball alternately to complete the hole.
The Parent-Child is one of 14 championships conducted annually by Washington Golf (WA Golf).
