We’re excited to welcome three new staff members to the Washington Golf team! Please join us in welcoming Malia Osborne, Luke Roque, and Rex Nelson.
Malia joins us as our new Office Administrator, while Luke and Rex come aboard as USGA P.J. Boatwright Interns for 2025.
Get to know a little bit about Malia:
Born and raised in Gig Harbor, Malia attended college in Boise before graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in law and policy. She’s a proud mom to a 5-year-old daughter and has an Alaskan Malamute who keeps her busy.
Malia’s love for golf began in junior golf alongside her sister and grew through high school competition. Now, she’s excited to reconnect with the game and bring that passion to WA Golf.
Outside of work, she enjoys being near the water in summer, hitting the mountains in winter, traveling, and making memories with her daughter. Her dream foursome? One more round with her dad and family, the ones who started it all.
Get to know a little bit about Luke:
Born and raised in the Tacoma area, Luke grew up around the game, especially at The Home Course, where he’d watch his dad prepare the course as superintendent. He’s currently attending the University of Idaho, working toward a degree in business management through the PGA Professional Golf Management program.
A true animal lover, Luke’s family has four dogs, three cats, and even a snake. Outside of golf, he’s a big Marvel fan (especially the Loki series) and follows Formula 1 racing closely, hoping to attend a race someday.
His favorite part of golf? Every round brings something new. His dream foursome includes Rory McIlroy, Lewis Hamilton, and his dad.
Get to know a little bit about Rex:
Originally from Browns Point, Rex graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma and is currently attending Washington State University. At home, he’s got two pets, a dog named Mack and a cat named Dicy.
Though he’s played golf for years, his passion for the game has grown recently, especially around his favorite part: chipping. He loves the challenge and enjoys mastering its technical side.
Outside of golf, Rex is an avid volleyball player who travels around the west side for tournaments. He’s also a die-hard fan of the Seahawks, Mariners, and future return of the Sonics. His dream foursome? John Daly, Phil Mickelson, and Bryson DeChambeau.
