Renton, Wash. – Ken Wade of Kennewick shot rounds of 70-74-77 to win the 38th Washington Senior Men’s Amateur Championship; while Norm Bradley of Kelowna, B.C. shot rounds of 71-76-72 to capture the 17th Super Senior Men’s Amateur.
The 54-hole stroke play championships were held concurrently, this week, June 4-6 at Yakima Country Club in Yakima, Wash.

Wade went wire-to-wire to win the Senior Men’s Amateur. He opened the championship with an impressive round of 2-under par 70, and followed it up with a 2-over 74. Wade entered the final round with a four-shot lead and was able to hold off defending champion Tom Brandes of Bellevue who was seeking his tenth title. Brandes finished in second place, two shots back.
This is the first WA Golf title for Wade, a long-time competitor in state championships.
In the Super Senior, Bradley opened with a 1-under par 71 in round one, the low round of the championship. This set the tone for Bradley for the week. He held a share of the lead going into today’s final round and was able to coast to a three-shot victory over Jim Akers of Fall City.
This is the first WA Golf title for Bradley, who has participated in 11 PNGA Lamey Cups as a team member for British Columbia Golf.
To be eligible for the Senior Men’s Amateur, players needed to be 55 years or older by June 4, 2024, while participants in the Super Senior Men’s Amateur had to be at least 65 years old by the same date. All competitors were required to have an active GHIN number and a USGA Handicap Index issued by a WA Golf member club, not exceeding 12.4 at the time of entry.
