Yakima, Wash. – This week, from June 4-6, the 38th Washington Senior Men’s Amateur and 17th Super Senior Men’s Amateur Championships will be held simultaneously at Yakima Country Club in Yakima, Wash.
The championships will feature the top Senior and Super Senior Men’s Amateur golfers across Washington ant North Idaho. The to championships will take place over 54 holes of stroke play.

Last year, the championships were hosted at Fairwood Golf & Country Club in Renton, Wash. Tom Brandes of Bellevue took home his ninth Senior Men’s Amateur title, and John Gallacher won the Super Senior Men’s Amateur for a second time.
This year, both Brandes and Gallacher return with their sights both set on repeating.
Other past champions participating in the Senior Men’s Amateur include Erik Hanson, who won the championship in 2022.
In the Super Senior Men’s field, other past champions competing this year include Jim McNelis (2022), David Hunter (2019) and Rick Weihe (2015.
To be eligible for the Senior Men’s Amateur, contestants must be 55 years of age or older by June 4, 2024. For the Super Senior Men’s Amateur, participants must be 65 years of age or older by the same date. All competitors must possess an active GHIN number and a USGA Handicap Index issued by a WA Golf member club, with a maximum index not exceeding 12.4 at the time of entry.
