Renton, Wash. – Tom Brandes of Bellevue, Wash. shot rounds of 73-72-69 to win the 37th Washington Senior Men’s Amateur Championship; while John Gallacher of Burnaby, B.C. won the 16th Super Senior Men’s Amateur.
The 54-hole stroke play championships were held concurrently on June 6-8 at Fairwood Golf & Country Club in Renton, Wash.

Brandes fired the low round of the championship , with a 2-under 69 in today’s final round to coast to a nine-shot victory. This is the ninth Senior Men’s Amateur title for Brandes, a PNGA Hall-of-Famer. Finishing in second place was Michael Swingle of Carnation.
In the Super Senior championship, Gallacher shot rounds of 71-75-77, to lead from start to finish in securing his second Super Senior title. He had previously won this championship in 2017. Jim McNelis from Gig Harbor, the defending champion, finished in second place, three shots behind Gallacher.
To be eligible for the Senior Men's Amateur, players needed to be 55 years or older by June 6, 2023, while participants in the Super Senior Men's Amateur had to be at least 65 years old by the same date. All competitors were required to have an active GHIN number and a USGA Handicap Index issued by a WA Golf member club, not exceeding 12.4 at the time of entry.
