Renton, Wash. – This week, from June 6-8, the 37th Washington Senior Men’s Amateur and 16th Super Senior Men’s Amateur Championships will be held simultaneously at Fairwood Golf & Country Club in Renton, Wash.
The championships will showcase the talents of the finest Senior and Super Senior Men’s Amateur golfers in the region. The competition will take place over 54 holes of stroke play.

Last year, the championships took place at Desert Canyon Golf Resort in Orondo, Wash. Erik Hanson of Kirkland emerged victorious in the Senior Amateur division, securing his first championship title. Jim McNelis of Gig Harbor triumphed in the Super Senior Amateur category.
This year, McNelis returns with the aim of defending his title in the Super Senior.
Notable past champions participating in the Senior Men’s Amateur division include Tom Brandes, who has clinched the championship eight times (2011-2014, 2018-2021), and Keith Crimp (2010).
In the Super Senior Men’s field, notable past champions competing this year include Mark Johnson (2021), David Hunter (2019), Rick Weihe (2015), and Ron Petersen (2011-2012).
To be eligible for the Senior Men’s Amateur, contestants must be 55 years of age or older by June 6, 2023. For the Super Senior Men’s Amateur, participants must be 65 years of age or older by the same date. All competitors must possess an active GHIN number and a USGA Handicap Index issued by a WA Golf member club, with a maximum index not exceeding 12.4 at the time of entry.
