Emerson (Emme) Speas of Camas, Wash. is one of 23 recent college graduates who have been selected for a 2025-2026 PGA WORKS Fellowship by the PGA of America’s REACH Foundation, the 501c3 charitable foundation of the PGA of America.
The Foundation is proud to offer three additional scholarship and grant opportunities for 2026 – The Andrew Putnam Scholarship, Future Fairways Scholarship and Junior Golf Opportunity Grant – all aiming to provide financial support to some of the region’s most passionate and committed young players.
Coaching golf has been Chris Williams’ gig since 2019, when he started his role as assistant coach of the men’s golf team at Marquette University. In 2021, he went to Auburn University to serve as its assistant coach, and was instrumental in building the team that would win the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship, the Tigers’ first ever.
Kim Titus of Fox Island, Wash. shot rounds of 79-78 to win the 26th Washington Senior Women’s Amateur, while LoriAnne Johns of Tacoma shot rounds of 79-83 to claim the 12th Washington Super Senior Women’s Amateur title.
The PGA of America REACH Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the Association, has awarded scholarships for the 2025-26 academic school year to 15 students at nine colleges through the PGA WORKS John & Tamara Lundgren Scholars Program.
Denise Kieffer of University Place, Wash. and Gretchen Klein of Hoquiam, Wash. both shot 4-over par rounds of 76 to tie for the 26th Washington Senior Women’s Amateur lead, while Lorianne Johns of Tacoma shot a 7-over par 79 to lead the 12th Washington Super Senior Women’s Amateur.
The 26th Washington Senior Women’s Amateur and 12th Washington Super Senior Women’s Amateur will be held this week, August 19-20, at Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club in Union, Wash, marking the first time Alderbrook has hosted the Senior Women’s Amateur since the inaugural 2000 championship, and the first time the club has ever hosted the Super Senior Women’s championship.
