
Blaine, Wash. – The 16th Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship is being held July 21-23 at Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club in Blaine, Wash. The 54-hole stroke-play championship is being conducted by Washington Golf (WA Golf).
This year marks the first time Semiahmoo will host the championship. The first tee time for the opening round on Monday, July 21 is 7:00 a.m. All groups will start on the first tee.

Players to watch for in the strong championship field include:
- Jacob Rohde (Everett) – 2024 Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Champion at Desert Canyon Golf Resort.
- Jon McCaslin (Olympia) – 2025 Champion of Champions winner, won that same tournament in 2018.
- Reid Hatley (Hayden Lake, Idaho) – Two-time winner of this championship (2016, 2018). Hatley has two other WA Golf titles (2019 Men’s Am, 2023 Men’s Four Ball) and has been named the WA Golf Men’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year six times.
- Johnny Carey (Seattle) – 2022 Men’s Four-Ball Champion, finished in tie for second at 2025 Washington Men’s Amateur, solo-third at 2025 Champion of Champions.
- Erik Hanson (Kirkland) – Won this title in 2019, and twice finished in second place (2010, 2015).
- Jacob Koppenberg (Bellingham) – Won this title in 2021, and was runner-up last year. Previously named the 2023 WA Golf Men’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year.
To be eligible, contestants must be 25 years of age or older by July 21, 2025. Competitors must have an active GHIN number and USGA Handicap Index issued by a WA Golf member club not exceeding 9.9 at the time of entry.
The Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur is one of 14 championships held annually by WA Golf.
