Washington Senior and Super Senior Women’s Amateur being held at Alderbrook

Union, Wash. – The 26th Washington Senior Women’s Amateur and 12th Washington Super Senior Women’s Amateur will be held this week, August 19-20, at Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club in Union, Wash. This year marks the first time Alderbrook has hosted the Senior Women’s Amateur since the inaugural 2000 championship, and the first time the club has ever hosted the Super Senior Women’s championship. 

Championship Links 

Both championships will be held over 36 holes of both gross and net stroke play, with a hole-by-hole playoff to determine a champion if necessary. 

Senior Players to Watch: 

  • Leslie Folsom of Tukwila, Wash. – 2018, 2020 Women’s Senior Amateur Champion; won 2025 Washington Senior Women’s Champion of Champions and the 2025 SWGA Championship. 
  • Gretchen Klein of Hoquiam, Wash. – Won 2017 and 2022 Senior Women’s Champion of Champions; runner-up in 2024 Senior Women’s Amateur. 
  • Sue Craven of Snohomish, Wash. – 2021 Senior Women’s Amateur Champion; runner-up in 2024 championship. 

Super Senior Players to watch: 

  • Linda Hash of Sequim, Wash. – 2024 Super Senior Women’s Champion. 
  • Kris Adams of Bonney Lake, Wash – 2020 Super Senior Women’s Champion; net T2 in 2024 Super Senior Women’s Amateur. 

For both championships, entries are open to women golfers who have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index issued by a WA Golf member club not exceeding 40.4 and are members in good standing of a WA Golf member club. By Aug. 19, 2025, senior players must have reached their 50th birthday, and super senior players must have reached their 65th. 

The Washington Senior and Super Senior Women’s Amateur Championships are two of 14 championships held annually by WA Golf.
