Nguyen grabs early lead at Washington Women’s Amateur; Battistella goes low to lead Mid-Amateur

Oak Harbor, Wash. – The opening round of the 31st Washington Women’s Amateur and 15th Women’s Mid-Amateur championships were contested today at Whidbey Golf Club in Oak Harbor, Wash. Despite the sunshine and good weather, the course proved to me a formidable test for the best Women’s Amateur players from across the state.

Lauryn Nguyen hits her approach shot to the 18th green during round one.
